We meet today with a new article and a new theme which is spirulina and its benefits on the skin. As you may have read in our article on the 10 benefits of spirulina, it is an effective weapon against free radicals. It can be used as a detox for the face. But don’t panic, I’ll explain it all in detail. Enjoy your reading!

Spirulina has an anti-aging effect on the skin

Spirulina helps to regenerate the cells thanks to the fact that it contains a set of vitamins with antioxidant properties such as vitamin A as well as B vitamins from B1 to B12. The trace elements, present in spirulina, help fight against cell aging. Our superfood also contains antioxidants that play different roles in the structure of the skin:

  • Superoxide dismutase is an enzyme that helps fight free radicals
  • Phycocyanine is a powerful antioxidant and detoxifier
  • beta-carotene, also known as vitamin A, which prepares the skin for the sun and helps prevent skin dryness
  • Flavonoids are responsible for eliminating heavy metals and toxins, which helps slow down the aging process of cells.

All these components intervene to delay the effects of aging, whether cellular, cutaneous or cerebral.

Spirulina restores the beauty of your skin

Spirulina improves the firmness and elasticity of your skin thanks to its antioxidant properties. Thanks to its gamma-linolenic acid, it restores radiance to your skin and rejuvenates it. Spirulina promotes the resistance of the mucous membranes and the skin thanks to its vitamin B5. Moreover, it is completely assimilable with the urucum for better results (always more!) concerning the maintenance of elasticity and hydration of the skin.

In internal care but also external

It’s no secret that a healthy, balanced diet is one of the reasons your skin is healthy. Combine spirulina with your diet (whether in tablet or powder form) for positive, visible results on your skin.

Spirulina can also be used as an external treatment. You can incorporate it in your homemade mask recipes. Our little blue algae absorbs impurities, moisturizes, cleans and nourishes the skin from the inside. It also closes the pores. All its active ingredients are better assimilated by the dermis and the epidermis and capitalize their effects. In addition, we can see the redensifying effect of proteins that boost the manufacture of elastic fibers, protective effects (antioxidants), energy (vitamins), nourishing (fatty acids) while its carbohydrates (rahmnose, glycogen) ensure a good hydration to the skin. Spirulina stimulates the metabolism of cells and protects them from the negative effects of UVA.

Spirulina suitable for all skin types

Whether you have dry, oily or combination skin, spirulina is suitable for all cases! Spirulina restructures the epidermis, restores tone and radiance to tired skin and has a calming effect on irritated skin.
It is recommended for problem skin, prone to dryness, itching and even problems such as psoriasis.
