Spirulina powder often seems complicated to eat. For the record, when we started at Vegalia, a friend tried to eat our spirulina powder directly with a big spoon (very bad idea). Mixing it with water is also not the best solution, which is why we have listed the 3 little tricks to taste our little blue algae.
Spirulina powder - Fruit juice
Definitely the simplest and most used method. Mixing spirulina powder with a fruit juice can even add a nice little taste to your freshly squeezed juices. We recommend apple juice and orange juice. But if your spirulina is sweet (like Caroline) You can of course have fun innovating with fruits of all kinds! For those whose iron is the main reason for their spirulina consumption, we still recommend drinking it mixed with a fruit containing vitamin C: this promotes the absorption of iron up to 75% (at this level, it is not negligible!).
SPIRULINA POWDER - SMOOTHIE
Just like in your morning juices, spirulina powder goes wonderfully with smoothies. Kiwi, apple, spinach, pear, spirulina makes a great smoothie. We have a whole bunch of recipes to show you (spirulina smoothie with banana, etc….). Don’t go too far away!
Spirulina powder - all kinds of recipes
If your spirulina does not have a very strong taste (like our Caroline), you can use it in a lot of recipes. Just be careful not to heat your recipe above 45 degrees so as not to damage the properties of the spirulina. Our favorite recipe is the spirulina guacamole, the avocado lends itself perfectly to spirulina. A little touch of lemon and you’ll be over the moon with it! Try also to use spirulina in your dishes! Don’t worry, we will soon be serving up some wonderful recipes. If you have a recipe proposal, write it to us, we are very curious to try new things! See you soon!
